On occasion of the inauguration of a state of art transmission electron microscope (TEM) by the CeNTech research group of Prof. Gerhard Wilde a workshop was organized at CeNTech. The new FEI Titan Themis G3 300 allows analysis and characterization of materials with (sub-) atomic resolution. Guest of honor was Prof. Hans-Peter Karnthaler, a pioneer in this field, who had set up the first TEM facility at Vienna already in 1970.
