Publication ACS Nano: Study about high-resolution atomic force microscopy with the performance of copper single-atom catalysts

CeNTech scientists combine atomic-scale characterization of a single atom catalyst with a direct proof of the electrochemical performance in an oxygen reduction reaction, which is an important process in fuel cells. In collaboration with the Max-Planck-Institute for Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam and the University of Paderborn, the researchers used organic supramolecular networks to stabilize single copper atoms as catalytically active sites. The study was successfully published in the renowned American Chemical Society Journal.

City of Münster and University of Münster continue CeNTech collaboration

The CeNTech GmbH Supervisory Board and the Westphalian Wilhelms University (WWU) have decided to continue the proven concept beyond 2023. CeNTech CEO Enno Fuchs and WWU Chancellor Matthias Schwarte signed the new agreement to continue the successful collaboration. CeNTech I was inaugurated in 2003 and is recognized as a nucleus and driver for the local high-tech research in nanotechnology and the further development of the science park. CeNTech II opened in 2011, the Nano Bioanalytik Zentrum (NBZ) in 2013 and the Center for Soft Nanoscience (SoN) in 2018. In 2011 CeNTech was awarded as ORT DES FORTSCHRITTS by the former NRW Science Minister Svenja Schulze. By now a considerable number of start-ups with a significant growth potential have been founded at CeNTech.

CeNTech start-up Pixel Photonics successful at state level

This year's award for outstanding services at the Innovation Site North Rhine Westphalia went, among others, to the young CeNTech-based company Pixel Photonics, a spin-off from Prof. Wolfram Pernice's research group. The prize was awarded by NRW Economics Minister Pinkwart to Dr. Wladick Hartmann and his team for the development of high-speed and detectable quantum communication systems. The Pixel Photonics business model targets photonic technologies that could not be served with market-driven solutions so far.

3rd MATMED MDR workshop at CeNTech

On May 17th an additional MDR/IVDR workshop supported by the EU project MATMED (www.matmed.eu) took place at CeNTech. In the collaboration with the TÜV SÜD Akademie (https://lnkd.in/eTHA_7bD) the referent Christina Lozancic addressed in particular the topics responsibility/liability for regulatory compliance and the establishment of a risk management system. She pointed out that SMEs need to work together and/or to linkup in order to overcome the challenges within the certification process. 10 participants working at SMEs and/or start-ups from the Münsterland region registered for the workshop.
