CeNTech Start up Pixel Photonics received seed funding

Pixel Photonics, a Quantum technology spin-off from the WWU Münster located at CeNTech, raised 1.45 million Euros in a seed-round from the German VC fund High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), the French quantum-focused VC fund Quantonation as well as the photonic industry veteran Dr. Hendrik Sabert. Pixel Photonics develops highly scalable integrated-optical single-photon detectors that enable scaling of solutions in quantum computing, QKD and imaging among others. The Pixel Photonics detector design is based on research activities of the CeNTech scientists Prof. Wolfram Pernice and Prof. Carsten Schuck.

A successful example for the CeNTech concept: Interdisciplinarity

Since the beginning in 2003, CeNTech has been committed to interdisciplinarity. One of the initiators of the CeNTech idea and director of the CeNTech, Prof. Harald Fuchs is a pioneer of the interlocking of the departments of physics and chemistry at Münster University. Together with his colleagues PD Dr. Harry Mönig and PD Dr. Saeed Amirjalayer, he offers a current successful and illustrative research example conducted at CeNTech.

NRW Government supports network EIN Quantum NRW

The University of Münster (WWU) is founding partner of the new competence network 'EIN Quantum NRW'. The State of North Rhine-Westphalia is funding the network with 12.5 million euros until 2026. The network partners are going to contribute additional 7.5 million euros. Quantum computing and quantum communication have tremendous potential and will have a significant impact on future development in the fields of communication and information technologies. Active players in Münster include Prof. Wolfram Pernice and Prof. Carsten Schuck, WWU, and the start-up company Pixel Photonics, both located at CeNTech.

100.000 Euro grant to support SMSs affected by MDR/IVDR EU regulation

The state of North Rhine-Westphalia is funding a consortium consisting of CeNTech GmbH, Bioanalytik Münster e.V. and the Network Gesundheitswirtschaft Münsterland with a grant of 100 T Euro. The 14 months Project "MDR-supportatNRW" is dedicated to support SMEs and start-ups in their effort to address the increased safety standard and stricter requirements of the MDR/IVDR EU Regulation. Additional Partners of the NRW project are located in Aachen, Bochum and Altena.
