CeNTech Science Breakfast

Once again the traditional CeNTech Science Breakfast provided insights into current research activities within the science park and a valuable exchange of the stakeholders. The program included presentations on the production of natural rubber from dandelions, performed by Prof. Dirk Prüfer, innovative approaches in battery electrode research (Cabot Corporation), the application of simulated Raman microscopy in histology (Refined Laser Systems GmbH), the hydrogen cluster Münster and the activities of the SFB 1459 "intelligent matter".

Workshop Neue EU Regulierung und Zulassung Medizinprodukte und in vitro-Diagnostik (MDR)

In Zusammenarbeit mit dem renommierten Johner-Institut (https://www.johner-institut.de/) veranstaltet die CeNTech GmbH am 16. Juni 2020 ein 1-tägiges Trainingsseminar zur neuen europäischen Medizinprodukteverordnung (Medical Device Regulation). Für KMUs ist die Teilnahme kostenlos (Finanzierung über das Interreg Projekt MATMED), die Teilnehmerzahl ist auf 10 - 12 Personen begrenzt.

Special awards for this year's 'Jugend forscht' winners

Once again, the CeNTech GmbH and the bioanalytik-münster association awarded special prizes to this year's winners of the IHK regional competition "Jugend forscht" in the fields of physics and biology. The representatives of the two institutions Dr. H. Winter and Dr. K.-M. Weltring congratulated the highly motivated students on their outstanding scientific achievements. Dr. Winter: "They show impressively how much talent, thirst for knowledge and creative power are in young scientists."

Great interest in the 3rd CeNTech Science Breakfast

More than 60 researchers and entrepreneurs from the Münster region were present at this year's "CeNTech Science Breakfast" which was dedicated to the current expansion of the Science Park Münster in which the CeNTech is imbedded. Prof. Jan Bart Ravoo and Prof. Michael Schäfers presented the research activities of the neighbouring new Center for Soft Nanoscience (SoN) and the Multiscale Imaging Centre (MIC, due to be completed in 2019). From the Münster Battery Research Center (MEET) Dr. Markus Börner talked about the latest research. Established companies from the neighbourhood like ION-TOF (Sven Kayser) as well as the CeNTech start-up PolyTaksys (Dr. Christian Althaus) and the research group from Prof. Carsten Schuck reported on their current R&D activities. Prof. Fuchs emphasized how valuable informative events like this are for new opportunities for cooperation.

Münster Science Park with visible participation at NRW Nano Conference

More than 500 participants attended the 8th NRW Nano Conference in Dortmund (Nov 21/22, 2018). CeNTech in collaboration with the bioanalytik-muenster network and the Alliance for Science Münster presented the nanocluster Münster at the conference. Among others Karl-Uwe Bütof from the NRW Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy visited the Münster booth. Klaus-Michael Weltring and Thomas Robbers presented and explained the Münster science park which provides an excellent infrastructure for the research and the development of nanotechnology.

Great success of "Zukunftspaziergang" (Future Walk) at the SCIENCE PARK

On June 23, 2018, the local network Bioanalytik Münster in collaboration with the Technologieförderung Münster GmbH and the CeNTech GmbH organized a walk through the Science Park of Münster. A delegation of about 30 persons including the mayor Markus Lewe and leading representatives of the city administration, the council factions as well as both universities and the university hospital obtained information about the current status of the Science Park as well as upcoming challenges. Within this tour the organizers addressed important issues like future expansion plans, logistics within the areal and the quality of living. The walk was followed by a panel discussion. The event was undoubtedly a success and Klaus Michael Weltring (Bioanalytik Münster) pleased with the gained perceptions. The project was an important contribution for the development of the Science Park as part of the future development framework of the City of Münster.
