COVID 19 Test system successfully refined

CeNTech initiated a transnational collaboration that lead to a successful refinement of a COVID 19 test System. The British company Eluceda, www.eluceda.com, is currently undergoing clinical validation of a new PCR free rapid test system for the virus SARS-CoV-2. As the company was unable to obtain suitable corona samples within the UK during lockdown, the EU project MATMED introduced and funded a collaboration with the German diagnostic company Carpegen GmbH, www.carpegen.de. The company from Münster provided corona samples and furthermore analyzed the sample using two different standard PCR procedures - Carpegen´s in-house SARS-CoV-2 assay and a commercial SARS-CoV-2 detection kit. The collaboration led to a significant acceleration of the technology readiness level of the corona test technology.
